I live in Perth Western Australia and was moved when I saw an interview of Dr Raj Patel and listerned to his veiws on the world food shortage, so much so that I feel I would like to help in anyway I can. Would you please advise of any current programs running that I may be able to be a part of, thank you for your time and I look forward to your reply.

Hi Tuefelsdrockh,
welcome to our blog. We were fortunate enough to have Raj give a lecture and workshop here in Christchurch.
As you point out, his findings are indeed shocking and I am constantly recommending his book to anyone who's interested in (or in complete denial of, for that matter) the problems our society's food supply chain is facing. BTW, there was just a great (meaning scary but awakening) article on this subject in the Guardian. It can be viewed here.

Interestingly, there has been a lot of traffic to this specific post in the last month or two. Does anyone know why?

STUFFED AND STARVED will change the way you look at food forever! It is THE book on the world food crisis. Tea drinker or not, check this book out. Also go to the author's website: stuffedandstarved.org I sound like a zealot, because I have been thoughtfully informed and transformed by this book's analysis of a global malnutrition endemic that will have disasterous consequences in the generations to come.
