Hi Phyll,
we were lucky enough not to have a problem with theft. Well, lucky is probably the wrong term since people really cherished what we offered them (there’s no place else in New Zealand where you can have gong-fu cha from Yixing pots) and took extra care with the wares.

The title is based on my experiences as a student when some people I knew resorted to this type of souvenir-hunting due to a lack of funds. But it is also quite common in the bar industry that people steal glasses. I never thought that the title could be interpreted like that, but it is blatantly obvious to me now how one can misread it.

Here’s an innovative idea of how to market a trademe auction. Bid in an auction for a souvenir from a well-loved business rather than stealing it (which, in turn, would hurt the business).
A great concept of marketing your auctions……
