News from the Teahouse, about tea and more

Back for business (with a few new exciting new things on offer)

[ IMAGE: Wet leaves of sampled Darjeeling Teas ] Just a quick update today to let you all know that I’m back in NZ.

After staying with my family in Germany for the last 6 weeks, I’m back in the gloomy autumn of Christchurch. Sorry for not being able to handle any orders in my absence, but in times of hardship, family is the most important thing.

While I spent most of my time supporting my sister and her children as well as enjoying the beautiful spring in Europe, I found some time to tend to some pressing business: the fresh harvest of 2011 Darjeeling First Flushes. I sampled many, many teas and selected 3 that will be available through Ya-Ya soon. I’ve also brought back some beautiful older pu-erhs from China on my way back, but more on these in a future post.

For all of you who’ve sent emails while I was away, I’ll get back to you in the next few days.

[…] As I alluded to in my last post, we’ve got a few new (well, new on offer from us, rather than age of the actual tea) pu-erhs that I would like to introduce to you. Ranging in age from 5 to 10 years and from raw to ripe tea, they’re a good addition to our existing offerings of pu-erh tea. […]

  2. […] As announced last month, we had a shipment of new Darjeeling 1st flush teas coming. The first two have finally arrived and I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce them alongside a new addition to our offerings of high quality Assam black teas. […]
